Two things I love around my apartment!

Hello! I need to go to bed but wanted to post two things I like around my house and hook up with one of my favorite blogs before she stops doing it for a while! So head on over to BacWoods Fern if you want to see other blogs who played!

So I have a thing for camels..
Got this guy at flea market for $4 the other day! haha I talked her down from $5- SUCCESS! I get nervous bartering when my mom is the opposite! She returns her seven for all mankind jeans to Nordstroms all the time for the knees getting "fuzzy" and they give her a new pair! I remember when we used to eat at Round Table pizza a lot when I was little and if the pizza was messed up she'd let them know and we'd get it free:) When we went to lunch on Sunday for Mother's Day Race and I beat her to the restaurant and she said she'd made reservations (it was packed) so we asked and we weren't on the list. Race right away said "your mom will take care of this." He knows her so well already and yes we were seated right away! I think it's the 12.5% Jew in her:) I like to think I'm related to Jesus (he was Jewish).. even if it's only by 6%.. I also consider myself African since we have relatives in South Africa and some that came over here from there! haha other then that I'm boring old British.. and Scottish. At what point should kids just say they're American? For so many people they've been here for so long! My Grandma came over from England so I guess mine isn't too far back..

I love this bell SO much! I got it for my mom at a vintage store for her preschool to let the kids take turns ringing when it's time to come inside.. and although she loved it, it proved to be too hard for their tiny little fingers to grasp onto.. so I went back to the flea market from where I rescued the camel and got one just like this for her-
it's a lot easier for the kids and now I have the pretty bell on top of my bookshelf! A win, win situation in my opinion:)
Maybe I should start collecting bells? Maybe not. At least until we have more space! I have too much stuff as it is.

Before I leave you I must announce that today I fell in love..
with this-

I looked at my "light" yogurt and guess what?! It had more sugar then this ice cream! I had one of the little mini cup versions (Albertsons is selling them for $1) and it had 180 calories and was like a cups worth and was SO good! So I guess I should start eating this instead of yogurt from now on... not.. but it's a great little treat and a switch from eating a popsicle every night as I've gotten in the habit of doing! Last night while eating my strawberry popsicle my bunny decided to join in on the fun-
Sorry it's blurry but I was like "quick! Race you have to document this!" I then had him take a video. Gizmo ate the whole corner off and it made my night. He is finally becoming more tame hooray!

I'm pretty pumped that Portland's 7 day forecast is like 68-78 degrees (is there no degrees key?!)! Bring on the dresses and shorts! I'm SO ready for warm weather and want it to stay although I'm sure this is just a teaser..

Alrighty goodnight blog world!

Happy Mothers Day!!

Thanks to me back in August 1986 my mom can even celebrate this day! So I should get some credit too right? I made this day possible for her! haha

I am SO thankful for my mom and her selflessness. She is the most generous person I know and has a true servant's heart! I love you mom!

Race and I met our mom's at our church and then got lunch at Claim Jumper. It was a gorgeous day so Race, my mom (my dad and sister were on a college retreat boating at Lake Shasta California) and I took the dog on a walk along the river and then we went to a self serve frozen yogurt place. It was nice spending Mother's Day with my mom after having been at Shasta the last 3 years of college!

I had an eventful Saturday at my relatives farm and will share photos tomorrow but for now here are some fun Chuck E. Cheese photos we got at our nephew's 7th birthday party a few weeks back-

Race, the birthday boy and I. It was really hard to get him to sit still for this photo with all the games around! We asked him if he'd do it with us and he said "no thanks"...so Race just kind of made him:)
He came for a sleepover after the party which was fun!

Race and I

We obviously enjoyed spending our tokens on this one:) It acts like Chuck is "sketching" you when in reality we decided it has a really old printer that takes forever to spit them out!

Race and I went and looked at 2 "fixer-up" houses tonight on our way home from my parent's! I knew the street they were on so we gave ourselves a little self guided tour and peeked in the windows. They have big lots and are on the river which is super fun! I don't know if we can swing it, but it'd be SO nice to be putting money into something every month instead of seeing it disappear going into this apartment! Most importantly we would have a yard and could get a dog:) We love pugs but if we were on the river I'm thinking we'd need a water lovin' dog and I don't know if they are! So that's something were looking into and praying about. Race is going to make some calls tomorrow and see if we could even qualify for the loan we'd need. Now is definitely the right time to buy! I think it'd be fun to have a "fixer-up" for a first home too because it'll make us appreciate it and when we have a nicer one someday!

Alright we're going to finish a hilarious movie we started last night -Raising Arizona

Hope all the mothers out there had a wonderful day and felt loved! :)

My weekend with a lot of photos!

Heyheyhey! I just watched Glee which always leaves me in a good mood:) Especially since my hubby has given in and started watching it with me..and even laughing and liking it!
I can't believe this day is almost over. I feel like my life has started going by faster ever since I finished school and got married last summer. It's crazy how fast it feels now!

Last Thursday my work got cancelled (the little girl I was supposed to watch got pneumonia) so I went down to Corvallis (my college town) with my mom to surprise and visit my little sis!
We went on a hike at one of my favorite spots, Bald Hill.

Love these two!
Cute lil' lambies!

At the top of the hill looking down at Corvallis

It was a fun day and we ate at McMenamins and then we went to a frozen yogurt place where you put on your favorite toppings- sooo good! My mom and I drove home afterwards (it's about an hour and twenty minutes back up to Portland).
Here is the cute house next door to my college house-

Love all the flowers.

Here is the house I lived in the last 2 years of school and now my sister and her friend's do! It's in the historic district and there are a ton of old cute houses around it.

Friday night Race and I went to Red Robins and then we watched Bambi which he didn't remember that the mom deer dies.. I've been stocking up and buying all my favorite classic Disney movies for when we have kids one day:) I love the word in Bambi- twitterpated and I think I'm going to start incorporating that into my everyday speech..

On Saturday I took my mare to go stay with a stallion for a month to get pregnant!!
He is such a cute little quarter horse!

Here are some of his kiddos-

Here is his dad so it'll be the foal's grandpa-

Horse people like butt shots:)
He has cute foals and he is homozygous black meaning he will not throw "red" foals but I'll get a grulla, buckskin, or black! :) I miss Bella and hope she does well! I'm hoping to go visit this weekend. Anyways in 11 months I'll have a little baby and I can't wait!

Then we went to hang with our buds Cassie and Mike and tried out a new McMenamins by their house called "Hotel Oregon" now we have been to 11 out of 57, one more checked off!
We ate on the roof!!

I love Cassie! You may notice that there's no one else up here.. everyone else ate inside because although it looks nice out don't be fooled it was windy and cold but we roughed it! We had fun wandering around aterwards trying to decide what to do and ended up at walmart and other various sites before going back to their house and watching Sherlock Holmes.

Then they gave us their son's gecko-

Meet Echo the gecko! She is super cute and didn't get along with their other gecko (I guess they like living alone best). I hope she warms up to us because she still seems kinda shy..even after we spent a ton of money on her "accessories" which I wasn't planning on.. so she better start being appreciative and earn her keep!

Well that was a ton of photos and info so I bet nobody's even reading down this far, but it you are, thanks for baring with me! I need to learn how to condense my thoughts.. I also didn't edit most of the photos so sorry for the quality of some:)

BED TIME!!! Goodnight!
